"It'll be interesting," Yost said.
Alex Gordon, a two-time All-Star, also believes the Royals could top the number of All-Stars from last year, which was three -- Gordon, closer Greg Holland and catcher Salvador Perez.
"It's great to be an All-Star, but really what's important is to keep playing hard and winning," Gordon said. "And if we keep winning, I don't see why we can't have more than three on the team."
Gordon, Perez and seven other Royals made this year's ballot, including two newcomers -- outfielder Alex Rios and designated hitter Kendrys Morales. Rios presently is on the disabled list.
Others on the ballot are first baseman Eric Hosmer, second baseman Omar Infante, shortstop Alcides Escobar, third baseman Mike Moustakas and outfielder Lorenzo Cain.
