Zimmerman eyes return trip to All-Star Game

WASHINGTON -- For the first time in his career, Nationals slugger Ryan Zimmerman is on the All-Star Game ballot as a first baseman.

Zimmerman, who's only Midsummer Classic appearance came in 2009, is looking to record his fourth season in which he drives in 90 runs or more runs. The last time it happened was in '12, when he drove in 95.

The other Nationals position players joining him on this year's ballot are second baseman Yunel Escobar, shortstop Ian Desmond, third baseman Anthony Rendon, catcher Wilson Ramos and outfielders Jayson Werth, Denard Span and Bryce Harper.

Fans can cast their votes for starters at and all 30 club sites -- on their computers, tablets and smartphones -- using the 2015 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot until Thursday, July 2, at 11:59 p.m. ET. For the first time, voting is exclusively online, where fans may submit up to 35 ballots.
