Yankees' Franchise Four voting favors HOFers

Major League Baseball released the current leaders for the Franchise Four campaign on Wednesday, and it should come as no surprise to see Babe Ruth atop the Yankees' list.

The first balloting update revealed that Ruth currently leads the voting. He's followed by Lou Gehrig, Mickey Mantle and Joe DiMaggio. The Yankees are one of seven clubs with four Hall of Famers currently leading the voting.

The Franchise Four campaign allows fans to vote for the most impactful players who best represent each Major League franchise and several other categories in baseball history.

Also featured on the Yankees' ballot are Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford, Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera.

More than 11.8 million votes have been cast in the Franchise Four voting, and you can cast your ballot here. Voting ends on May 8, and winners from all 30 clubs will be announced at the 2015 All-Star Game, which will take place on July 14 at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.
