The Storm Chasers lost on opening night at Werner Park. Omaha scored two in the first before the inning was halted by a 5-4-3-6 triple play. Whit Merrifield and 12th-ranked Royals prospect Orlando Calixte hit solo homers, with Calixte's his first at the Triple-A level. Eleventh-ranked Royals prospect Christian Binford (6.0 IP, 9 H, 4 ER, 1 BB, 3 SO, 2 HR) took the loss.

Northwest Arkansas plated five runs over the first two innings en route to a home win. Hunter Dozier's double in the second scored Jorge Bonifacio and Lane Adams. Naturals pitchers notched 12 strikeouts, with starter Jonathan Dziedzic fanning six over 3.0 innings. Terrance Gore, who began his day in Kansas City, entered as a pinch runner and scored in the eighth.

Wilmington lost a back-and-forth game, dropping to 1-1 in the series. Mauricio Ramos doubled home two of Wilmington's three runs in the third. Frank Schwindel was 2-for-4 with a double and a run. 19th-ranked Royals prospect Ramon Torres (1-for-3, two walks, two runs) has now hit safely in all eight games. Starter Alec Mills struck out five while allowing five runs (four earned) over 4.2 innings. Matt Alvarez followed with 2.1 scoreless innings.

Carlos Garcia singled home the go-ahead run as Lexington broke a 3-3 tie with three in the eighth. West Virginia had tied the game with three in the top half. Mike Hill drove in four runs and 14th-ranked Royals prospect Brandon Downes was 3-for-4 with three runs. Starter Corey Ray scattered five hits and a walk over 5.2 shutout innings, striking out four.
