Dodgers release reliever Webb

LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers have released reliever Ryan Webb, acquired in a trade from Baltimore last week. Webb signed with the Indians on Monday night and was assigned to Triple-A.

The Dodgers must pay Webb's $2.75 million salary.

Dodgers management apparently considered the $2.75 million fair value for the competitive-balance Draft pick (No. 74 overall) the club acquired along with Webb and a Minor League catcher for two Minor Leaguers.

Club officials have not commented on the transaction.
