Colorad Rockies place John Axford on Family Medical Emergency List

Select pitcher Scott Oberg from Albuquerque; move Charlie Culberson to the 60-day disabled list

DENVER - The Colorado Rockies announced that they have placed right-handed pitcher John Axford on the Family Medical Emergency List, effective today, and purchased the contract of right-hander Scott Oberg from Triple-A Albuquerque.

To make room for Oberg on the team's 40-man roster, the Rockies transferred infielder Charlie Culberson (lumbar disc) from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list.

Axford, who turned 32 on April 1, has made one appearance, earning the save in a scoreless 10th inning on Wednesday at Milwaukee in a 5-4 win.

Oberg, who turned 25 March 13, pitched one inning on Friday vs. Reno. He has no career Major League appearances. The Rockies selected him in the 15th round of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft.
