Reyes, Bautista exit early on Saturday

Both expected to be in Sunday's lineup

Reyes, Bautista exit early on Saturday

BALTIMORE -- The Blue Jays' lopsided 7-1 loss to the Orioles on Saturday night meant Jose Reyes and Jose Bautista hit the showers a little early to get some additional rest.

Both players are dealing with minor injuries in the first week of the season but aren't expected to miss additional time. Reyes felt some discomfort in his left oblique muscle during Friday's game in Baltimore while Bautista was removed early from that game as well because of cramping in both of his legs.

When Reyes departed Saturday night in the seventh and Bautista followed suit in the eighth there was some initial concern, but Blue Jays manager John Gibbons quickly dismissed that after the game.

"Get them out of there, day game tomorrow," Gibbons said when asked if there was anything to be concerned about with either player.

Bautista and Reyes are both expected to be in the lineup for the series finale on Sunday afternoon. During their absence, Steve Tolleson made a rare appearance at shortstop and Danny Valencia played the outfield for the first time in his career.
