Omaha dropped to 1-1 at New Orleans. Veteran Joe Blanton scattered two runs, five hits, a walk and a strikeout over five innings. Matt Fields led the Storm Chasers with three hits, including a double. Orlando Calixte's fifth inning double was his first Triple-A hit. Calixte -- the 12th-ranked Royals prospect, according to MLB.com -- scored on a single by Jose Martinez.

Northwest Arkansas lost a second straight game as all of the scoring came in the first inning. Jorge Bonifacio hit his second home run in as many nights, driving in both runs for the Naturals. Bonifacio is ranked ninth among Royals prospects by MLB.com. Midland's Chad Pinder countered with a decisive three-run homer in the home half. Glenn Sparkman (4 IP, 2 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 6 K) retired the final 10 batters in his Double-A debut. Mark Peterson followed with three scoreless frames.

The Blue Rocks evened their record at 1-1 with a road win. Zane Evans hit a solo homer in the second, and Bubba Starling followed with a three-run drive in the third. Starling is ranked 13th among Royals prospects by MLB.com. Blue Springs native Logan Moon added two hits and two RBIs. Cody Reed, the club's 2013 second-round pick and its 26th-ranked prospect, won his Class A Advanced debut (5 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 4 K). Luke Farrell earned a four-inning save, striking out seven.
