A's Agree to Terms with OF Cody Ross

OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland A's have agreed to terms with free agent outfielder Cody Ross, the club announced today. A corresponding roster move will be announced later today.

Ross was with Arizona this spring and batted .256 with six RBI in 16 games before he was released April 4. He was in the third year of a three-year contract with a club option for 2016. The 34-year-old right-handed hitter batted .252 with two home runs and 15 RBI in just 83 games with the Diamondbacks last year due to a pair of stints on the disabled list. Ross ranked fourth in the majors with a .357 batting average as a pinch hitter in 2014 and hit .337 over his final 47 games. He is a .263 career hitter with 132 home runs and 505 RBI in 1064 games in 11 seasons with Detroit (2003), the Dodgers (2005-06), Cincinnati (2006), Florida (2006-10), San Francisco (2010-11), Boston (2012) and Arizona (2013-14).
