D-backs slate first starts for Anderson, Bradley

Arizona won't use off-days to skip starters, taking advantage of rest for all

D-backs slate first starts for Anderson, Bradley

PHOENIX -- The D-backs will start Chase Anderson on Friday and rookie Archie Bradley on Saturday against the Dodgers.

The pair had been awarded spots in the rotation after Spring Training, but the D-backs waited until Tuesday to officially announce when they would pitch.

Bradley's solid start

With four off-days during April, the D-backs could skip a starter a time or two, but manager Chip Hale says his preference is to stay in rotation, which gives every starter an extra day of rest.

"The way our staff is set up, we would like it to be all five all the time, unless somebody has a sore something or other and we have to skip them," Hale said. "It's nice to give them that extra day -- all of them, not just one or two guys."
