MONTREAL -- Right-hander Liam Hendriks will start the 2015 season with the Toronto Blue Jays, who made their final roster cut on Saturday.

Infielder Ryan Goins was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo, as manager John Gibbons has elected to go with eight relievers when Toronto opens the season Monday against the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium

In 10 spring appearances, Hendriks allowed nine hits and four runs in 9 2/3 innings for a 3.72 ERA. He struck out 11, walked three and allowed a pair of home runs.

Goins hit .308 in 26 games this spring, with 16 hits in 52 at-bats, including two homers, and seven RBIs.
