Ethier day to day after getting hit by pitch on right elbow

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Dodgers outfielder Andre Ethier was hit by a pitch on his right elbow Tuesday against the White Sox and came out of the game. X-rays came back negative, and Ethier is day to day.

Ethier was struck by the Carlos Rodon pitch in the second inning and was replaced by Chris Heisey.

Ethier's solid Spring Training has been overshadowed by rookie Joc Pederson, who has done everything asked of him to win the starting center-field job, although manager Don Mattingly has not announced anything officially.

Ethier entered the game batting .313, with an .847 OPS, one homer and 10 RBIs. Pederson entered batting .368 with a 1.154 OPS, six homers and 12 RBIs.
