GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Dodgers have signed right-handed free-agent pitcher Freddy Garcia to a Minor League contract.
Garcia, 38, played in Taiwan last year after being released by Atlanta. A two-time All-Star, his best seasons were in Seattle, where he had seasons winning 18, 17 and 16 games beginning in 1999.
He also won 17 games with the White Sox in 2006 and went six consecutive seasons with at least 200 innings. In '01, he led the American League in ERA.
The Dodgers view Garcia as a veteran presence at Triple-A Oklahoma City.
