Felix pleased with tuneup in intrasquad game

PEORIA, Ariz. -- Felix Hernandez made his second outing of the spring, an intrasquad game against Minor Leaguers, on Sunday morning and everything went according to plan.

"It was good," Hernandez said. "Got my work, feel pretty good. Threw a lot of strikes, working on my stuff. It was fine."

The Mariners ace threw 51 pitches, 38 for strikes, over 3 1/3 innings while allowing two hits and striking out four.

Hernandez will make his next start on March 21 against the Cubs in Mesa and then figures to make one final start prior to Opening Day.
