Urias among pitchers sent to Minor League camp

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Dodgers made their first cuts of the spring, which included top pitching prospect Julio Urias. The 18-year-old left-hander was assigned to Minor League camp, along with pitchers Chris Anderson, Ryan Buchter and Josh Ravin.

The moves are necessitated by the reduction of available innings for Minor Leaguers as Major League starting pitchers stretch out with each start.

Urias is the crown jewel of the organization's developing pitchers, but he had no chance to make the club coming out of Spring Training. The moves allowed the four assigned pitchers to get regular work in Minor League camp, which opened workouts on Saturday.
