DETROIT -- Break out the white gloves.

Eleven pieces of Major League Baseball hardware, including the World Series trophy, arrived Thursday at Detroit's Cobo Center, where the trophies will be displayed as part of John Hancock FanFest, which opens Friday morning.

The glittering collection, created by Tiffany & Co., includes Most Valuable Player trophies for the All-Star Game, the American and National Leagues and the World Series. Fans can also catch a glimpse of Silver Slugger and Gold Glove awards, as well as the CENTURY 21 Home Run Derby trophy, which will be given out Monday night at Comerica Park.

DHL, the Official Express Delivery and Logistics Provider for Major League Baseball, escorted the shipment from the New York metropolitan area. This continued a partnership with MLB that saw DHL move more than 20 million All-Star Game ballots to all 30 Major League stadiums, 115 Minor League parks and other voting booths across the world.

FanFest runs July 8-12 at the Cobo Center, 1 Washington Blvd. Tickets, which can be purchased online at, cost $16 for adults and are discounted to $11 for senior citizens, military personnel and children ages 2-12.
