LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers signed four of their picks from this week's First-Year Player Draft, all of them college players, led by fifth-round choice Jacob Lemmerman, a shortstop from Duke.
Also signing were 13th-round pick Jesse Bosnik, a shortstop from Saint Bonaventure University; 14th-round pick Alex McRee, a left-handed pitcher from the University of Georgia; and 28th-round pick Mike Drowne, a center fielder from Sacred Heart University.
The Dodgers spent their first-round pick (28th overall) on Texas high school two-sport star Zachary Lee, who has given every indication he will play baseball and football at Louisiana State and not sign. If the Dodgers do not sign Lee by Aug. 16, they will receive a compensation pick next year at No. 29 overall.
