Century 21 Real Estate LLC presents: 2005 Century 21 Mascot Home Run Derby competition

2005 Century 21 Mascot Home Run Derby competition

PARSIPPANY, N.J. -- In a league of their own, eight Major League Baseball team mascots will take their turn at bat in the fourth-annual CENTURY 21 Mascot Home Run Derby event on Saturday, July 9 at 10 a.m. (CDT) at the COBO Convention Center located in Detroit. The event is part of John Hancock All-Star FanFest and is one of Major League Baseball All-Star Week's main attractions.

Each mascot will be matched randomly with a child representative from a Detroit-area Boys & Girls Club. Similar to the CENTURY 21 Home Run Derby competition, whose winner receives $250,000 towards a home, one lucky child will win a CENTURY 21 Dream Clubhouse should his or her Major League Baseball mascot partner capture the 2005 CENTURY 21 Mascot Home Run Derby title.

The line-up of home run hitting mascots includes: *

• Fred Bird - St. Louis Cardinals
• Junction Jack - Houston Astros
• Mariner Moose - Seattle Mariners
• Mr. Met - New York Mets
• Rangers Captain - Texas Rangers
• Paws - Detroit Tigers
• TC - Minnesota Twins
• Wally the Green Monster - Boston Red Sox

Junction Jack of the Houston Astros looks to continue his reign as the CENTURY 21 Mascot Home Run Derby champion by taking home his fourth consecutive title in Detroit. Junction Jack has been training throughout the season and is confident he will prevail once again. Although not if Detroit Tigers' mascot Paws, has anything to say about it. Detroit's hometown hero hopes to upset Junction Jack and capture its first CENTURY 21 Mascot Home Run Derby title.

The CENTURY 21 System's own feathered mascots Nestor and Houser will also be in attendance to cheer on those competing for the CENTURY 21 Mascot Home Run Derby crown.

As the "Official Real Estate Organization of Major League Baseball®," Century 21 Real Estate LLC, also serves as title sponsor of the CENTURY 21 Home Run Derby competition which ESPN and ESPN Desportes will televise live from Comerica Park in Detroit on Monday, July 11 beginning at 8:00 p.m. (EDT). This popular exhibition of home run hitting skill will decide the grand-prize winner of the 2005 CENTURY 21 Home Run Derby All-Star Sweepstakes which offers $250,000 toward the purchase of a home.
