Tony Clark, Players Association begin Spring Training tour

Executive director Tony Clark and staff members met with San Francisco Giants players on Wednesday morning, marking the first of the Players Association's annual Spring Training meetings for 2015.

The camp-to-camp meetings have been a staple of the union since Marvin Miller began holding them with each club in 1966.

During the meetings, led by executive director Tony Clark, players are briefed on a wide array of issues that affect their lives in the workplace.

Topics like industry economics, the benefit plan and the group licensing program are discussed annually, but some topics vary from year to year. This spring, for example, time is being devoted to discuss the "pace of game" and instant replay modifications announced last week.

The meetings wrap up with a visit to the Boston Red Sox camp in Fort Myers, Fla., on March 22.
