Trumbo wins arbitration hearing, to earn $6.9 million

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- The D-backs lost their arbitration case with outfielder Mark Trumbo and will pay him $6.9 million in 2015.

The D-backs had filed a $5.3 million figure.

Wednesday marked the first time the D-backs had gone to a hearing since 2001, when Damian Miller won his case against the team.

Injuries limited Trumbo to 88 games last season, his first with the D-backs after coming over from the Angels, and he hit .235 with 14 homers and 61 RBIs.
