Rockies unify resources to create Communications & Marketing Department with promotion of Jill Campbell to Vice President; addition of Warren Miller as Director of Communications

DENVER - The Colorado Rockies have named Jill Campbell vice president of communications & marketing and added long-time Major League Baseball media relations professional Warren Miller to its recently reorganized communications team. The new structure brings together the Club's baseball and business communications functions under the leadership and direction of one department.

Campbell, a 23-year industry professional, has served a variety of business, marketing and advertising roles with the organization since 1992. She has been instrumental in developing the Club's social media strategies, print and broadcast advertising campaigns, marketing programs and collateral, special events and a variety of specialty publications and media tools, including Rockies Magazine. Campbell will add management of the Rockies' public and media relations functions to her responsibilities in the combined Communications & Marketing Department.

Miller, a 27-year sports information and media relations professional, joins the Rockies as director of communications on Feb. 19. His career includes 17 years in Major League Baseball including the past eight years with the San Diego Padres. Miller also served in media relations roles with the Seattle Mariners and Houston Astros. 

In Colorado, Miller will oversee all aspects of the Club's day-to-day media relations, including press releases and media announcements, coordinating press conferences and press box operations, game-day press notes, the Club's annual information guide, arranging interviews for players and staff, all while serving as a baseball and business media contact for the club in Denver, throughout Spring Training in Scottsdale, Ariz., and on the team's road trips during the season. 

The Rockies communications/media relations team will continue to include Nick Piburn, assistant director of communications, and Matt Whewell, manager of communications.
