Carter, 28, has played parts of the last five seasons with Oakland (2010-12) and Houston (2013-14). The slugging first baseman/outfielder has become one of the game's top power hitters. Last season, Carter ranked tied for second in the Major Leagues with 37 homers, the most by an Astros player since 2006. With 66 home runs over the past two seasons, Carter ranks fifth in the American League in that span.
Hoes, 25, played in 55 games for Houston last season, including 35 starts in the outfield. He's appeared in 104 Major League games, all but three coming over the last two seasons (2013-14) with the Astros. He began his career in the Orioles organization before joining Houston on July 31, 2013, as a part of the return in the RHP Bud Norris trade.
Ford enters his third season as the Astros radio play-by-play commentator after being named to the post on Feb. 13, 2013. Prior to joining the Astros radio broadcast team, Ford spent four seasons as the pre-and postgame host for the Kansas City Royals radio broadcasts on 610 AM KCSP, the Royals flagship station. The 2001 graduate of Syracuse University spent seven years broadcasting minor league baseball, calling more than 800 games during his stints with the Binghamton Mets, Kalamazoo Kings and Yakima Bears. Ford was twice named Frontier League Broadcaster of the Year (2003 and 2004).
