Lee, who was named National League Player of the Month for April, ranks among the NL leaders in several categories, including batting average, home runs, RBIs, hits, total bases, and slugging percentage.
Lee has received 268,189 votes and is second in the NL balloting behind St. Louis slugger Albert Pujols, who has been named on 570,004 ballots.
Nomar Garciaparra may not be playing because he's out with a groin injury, but he's a fan favorite and is leading NL shortstops with 235,899 votes.
A five-time All-Star, Garciaparra played in 14 games before he was injured April 20, and was batting .157. He underwent surgery one week later, and was not able to start any rehab for four weeks. It's uncertain whether Garciaparra will return this year.
Aramis Ramirez, who has yet to make an All-Star team, ranked fourth among NL third basemen, while Michael Barrett was fifth among the catchers. Corey Patterson was among the top 15 outfielders at No. 12. None of them have ever appeared in an All-Star Game.
This year's All-Star Game will be played July 12 in Detroit. Last year, Carlos Zambrano, Moises Alou and Sammy Sosa represented the Cubs.
