The Royals will host their 17th annual "School Day at the K" on May 7 before the team's 1:10 p.m. CT game against the Indians. The club expects to have about 20,000 students and educators at the ballpark.
The annual event, hosted with FOX 4 WDAF-TV, is the largest educational field trip in Kansas City and the Guinness World Records' Largest Weather Show.
Gates to Kauffman Stadium will open at 8:30 a.m., and chief meteorologist Mike Thompson and the FOX 4 Weather Team will lead an hour-long pregame program focused on science and weather at 10.
Students and teachers will also have an opportunity to meet FOX 4 personalities and participate in hands-on activities before watching the ballgame.
