Tigers outright contract of Luke Putkonen
DETROIT - The Detroit Tigers today announced the club has outrighted the contract of righthanded pitcher Luke Putkonen to Triple A Toledo.
Putkonen, 28, made two appearances for the Tigers before spending the rest of the 2014 season on the disabled list due to right elbow inflammation. During his Tigers career, he has posted a 1-5 record, 4.66 ERA (48.1IP/25ER) and 39 strikeouts in 44 games.
The Tigers 40-man roster remains at 40.
