Royals acquire right-handed pitcher Jandel Gustave from Red Sox

KANSAS CITY, MO (December 11, 2014) - The Kansas City Royals have acquired right-handed pitcher Jandel Gustave in a trade with the Boston Red Sox. Gustave, 22, was selected by the Red Sox from Houston's Triple-A roster in the Major League phase of today's Rule 5 Draft. A native of Pimentel in the Dominican Republic, Gustave spent 2014 with Quad Cities in the Midwest League, going 5-5 with a 5.01 ERA and 82 strikeouts in 79.0 innings. The 6'2" right-hander made 23 appearances (14 starts) in 2014. He began his professional career with the Astros in 2010.
