Rockies sign lefty Boshers to Minor League deal

DENVER -- The Rockies have agreed on a Minor League contract with left-handed relief pitcher Buddy Boshers, who appeared in 25 games for the Angels in 2013. Boshers will be invited to Major League Spring Training, according to Major League sources.

Boshers, 26, posted a 4.70 ERA in 15 1/3 innings for the Angels, with 13 strikeouts against eight walks two seasons ago. In 2014, Boshers went a combined 3-3 with a 3.28 ERA in 40 games (eight starts) for Double-A Arkansas and Triple-A Salt Lake City.

A fourth-round Angels pick in 2008 out of Calhoun County (Ala.) Community College, Boshers has turned in impressive work this year in Venezuela for Leones de Caracas, going 2-1 with a 3.89 ERA, 30 strikeouts and nine walks in 13 games, including six starts.
