Bucs reach Minors deal with Gorkys, two others

The Pirates signed three players to Minor League contracts with invitations to Major League Spring Training on Monday.

Gorkys Hernandez, an outfielder who was in the Pirates organization from 2009-12, hit a combined .280 with 19 doubles, 16 stolen bases and 40 runs scored in 75 games this past season between Triple-A Omaha, Triple-A Charlotte and the Tigres de Quintana Roo of the Mexican League.

Infielder Deibinson Romero spent the 2014 season with the Twins' Triple-A affiliate, batting .265 with 31 doubles and eight homers. He is a career .262 hitter in the Minor Leagues.

Catcher Sebastian Valle hit .238 between Double-A and Triple-A for the Phillies in 2014. He played for Team Mexico in the 2013 World Baseball Classic and represented the Phillies in the 2011 All-Star Futures Game.
