Giants' World Series victory parade slated for today

Though the Giants clinched the World Series on the road in Kansas City, fans will have an opportunity to celebrate the 2014 title today when the club returns home for a victory parade.

The parade is at noon PT and will be broadcast live on MLB Network with a simulcast streaming on MLB.com.

San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee announced the parade Wednesday evening, congratulating the club on its third championship in five seasons.

"The San Francisco skyline is awash in orange," Lee said in a statement. "I congratulate our world champion San Francisco Giants after another spectacular World Series victory. For the third time in just five years, this world-class organization brought our city together as only our hometown heroes can."

The parade is scheduled to begin at noon PT at Market and Steuart Streets and will then travel down Market Street, concluding at Civic Center Plaza.
