KANSAS CITY -- World Series champions gear is once again available for Giants fans at the MLB.com Shop, and CEO Larry Baer was wearing some in the champagne-soaked clubhouse late Wednesday night and predicting that sales will be "off the charts" for the newest look of success.
"When you walk down the streets in San Francisco, there was all sorts of Giants merchandise even before we got into this postseason," Baer said amid the celebration din. "I had a friend text me from Disneyland a week or two ago, and he said, 'There's more Giants merchandise in Disneyland than all the other teams combined, including the L.A. teams.' So the fans have been unbelievable, and now they have more merchandise to get."
#ChampionsTogether has replaced #OctoberTogether as the official Giants hashtag, and that is an apt phrase as the rush has begun to find the same stuff that World Series MVP Madison Bumgarner, Pablo Sandoval and the rest of the team were wearing after winning their third Fall Classic in the last five seasons.
There were 8,800 styles of caps in the MLB.com Shop entering Game 7, and now you, too, can sport the Authentic 2014 World Series Champions 39THIRTY Stretch Fit Cap from New Era that manager Bruce Bochy and his players wore after clinching the title. Actually, 22 cap styles have just been added, including many with the championship theme.
The Official Parade Long-Sleeve T-Shirt is in, now that the subject has shifted from the availability of pitchers for Game 7 to parade gear. T-shirts and polos, sweatshirts and fleeces, women's, men's, plus-size, youth, home and office, accessories, memorabilia, outerwear ... The MLB.com Shop is loaded, and Giants fans are invited to dig in.
Happy Holiday shopping, too. Want the official World Series Film DVD? Pre-order now, and it will be available on Nov. 30, a great holiday gift to get someone started.
