Cubs outright Kalish, Valaika and Vitters to Triple-A

The Cubs outrighted outfielder Ryan Kalish, infielder Chris Valaika and third baseman Josh Vitters to Triple-A Iowa on Wednesday.

Kalish, 26, hit .248 in 57 games with the Cubs this season, while the 29-year-old Valaika batted .231 in 44 games.

Vitters, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2007 First-Year Player Draft, has not appeared in the Majors since 2012. The 25-year-old hit .213 with 11 home runs in 112 games at Iowa while seeing time in the outfield and at first base.
