COACHING CAREER:

Begins his first season on a Major League coaching staff.....was named to his position on 11/19/18...Enters his 12th season in the organization ...Was pitching coordinator in 2018, sharing the role with Mark Dewey...Worked as pitching coach at Double-A Huntsville (2008, 2012-14), Class-A Wisconsin (2009-11) and Double-A Biloxi (2015-17)...Served as pitching coach for Team USA in the 2015 Futures Game...Was an Arizona Fall League pitching coach in 2014...Also has experience as a pitching coach with the Florence Freedom of the independent Frontier League (2003-07) and at the college level at Northern Kentucky University (2000-02).

PLAYING CAREER:

The former right-handed reliever pitched 11 seasons (1989-99) professionally, including two seasons (1995-96) in the majors with San Francisco...Appeared in 55 games in the Major Leagues (all in relief) and went 5-2 with a 5.89 ERA...Was originally signed by Cincinnati as a non-drafted free agent in 1989 and also pitched in the farm systems with San Diego, California and Houston.

PERSONAL/MISCELLANEOUS:

Is married.....wife's name is Toni.....the couple has two sons, Christian and Brennan...Graduated from Lloyd (KY) High School, where he also played basketball, soccer and football...Attended Northern Kentucky University...Since 2001 has co-owned and operated a baseball training center in his hometown of Florence, KY, called "At the Yard."
