The National League won its first All-Star Game since 1996, as Brian McCann knocked a three-run double to put the NL ahead en route to winning Most Valuable Player honors. Scott Rolen and Matt Holliday began the seventh-inning rally with consecutive singles. The Dodgers' Hong-Chih Kuo became the first Taiwan native to appear in a Midsummer Classic.
