The National League staged a late rally in the 2005 All-Star Game, but it was too little, too late, as the AL extended its unbeaten streak to nine straight games. The AL looked to be coasting to another victory when Mark Teixeira's sixth-inning homer extended the lead to 7-0, but the NL rallied for two in the seventh, one in the eighth and two more in the ninth before Mariano Rivera entered the game and recorded the final out to end the threat.
