The 49,671 fans in attendance at Oakland-Alameda County Stadium for 1987's All-Star Game were treated to some free baseball. Pitching dominated in the extra-innings bout as the National League and American League went 12 frames of scoreless ball with the likes of Bret Saberhagen, Orel Hershiser and Rick Sutcliffe on the mound. Tim Raines secured his MVP status with a game-winning two-run triple in the 13th inning to give the NL a 2-0 victory.
