Five National League pitchers, including All-Star Game MVP LaMarr Hoyt, Nolan Ryan and Fernando Valenzuela, combined to limit an American League lineup featuring Cal Ripken Jr., George Brett, Eddie Murray and Lou Whitaker to just one unearned run, five hits and four walks. Willie McGee drove in two of the NL's six runs with a double in the 9th as the Senior Circuit won, 6-1, at the Metrodome.
