This was the first year in which Major League Baseball played two All-Star Games -- an effort to boost the players' earnings. Al Kaline and Eddie Matthews both went deep at Forbes Field in Pittsburgh during a game that saw three lead changes in the last three innings. Willie Mays' triple in the bottom of the eighth plated Hank Aaron and was the difference in a 4-3 NL victory.
