The National League got its second All-Star Game victory behind rookie pitcher Johnny Vander Meer, who a month earlier threw no-hitters in back-to-back starts. Vander Meer threw three scoreless innings to lead the NL staff, which, including Bill Lee and Mace Brown, held the AL All Stars to only seven hits. The AL also committed four errors in the game.
