  • Vilade slugs way to victory in Eastbay Home Run Derby

    Ryan Vilade took quite a liking to Wrigley Field on his first-ever trip to Chicago. Vilade, an infielder out of Frisco (Texas) High School, outslugged seven other of the country's top prep players Saturday to win the Eastbay Home Run Derby, which preceded the ninth annual Under Armour All-America Game at Wrigley Field.

The hard-throwing right-hander has been promoted from the Arizona Rookie League to Class A Advanced Winston-Salem, and there already has been talk that Burdi could help the big league team before the 2016 season is complete.
