31 years later, legendary organist Gary Pressy celebrated 2,500th game with the Cubs

It takes but a minute to associate Gary Pressy with the Friendly Confines of Wrigley Field. The legendary organist for the Cubs not only has a mind full of history, but when he relives those historical moments with others, it warms the soul and his talent speaks for itself.

"Some of the songs [I perform] are pretty obvious, some go pretty deep," told WGN Sports.

After 31 years (since 1987) of being the background music for "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" during the seventh-inning stretch (among other recognizable tunes), Pressy celebrated his 2,500th consecutive game on Monday. He will be leading the seventh-inning stretch both on the organ and singing (for a second time) as the Cubs hosted the Pirates.

He took to Twitter to thank fans for his milestone and for some trivia. Whoever answered his five questions correctly received an official Gary Pressy bobblehead … of course he has a bobblehead, all legends do.

This will go perfectly with his shiny new 2016 World Series championship ring.

Congratulations on the historic accomplishment, Gary. Nobody deserves it more. And Clark the Cub agrees ...
