It's been a good week for Brewers fans in the stands. On Father's Day, one dad ruled supreme over all others with a great catch on a second-deck foul ball and basked in well-deserved glory.
During Wednesday night's Pirates-Brewers game at Miller Park, a fan decked in a slick throwback Robin Yount jersey made a play the Brewers' Hall of Fame legend would be proud of -- making a great grab on a popup off the bat of Travis Shaw. It was such a solid play, Pirates third baseman David Freese gave the fan a congratulatory fist/glove-bump as a result:
Wednesday marked this fan's sixth game at the ballpark this season, and this marked the first time he's caught a foul ball at Miller Park (having caught one previously in the Brewers' County Stadium era).
As he told MLB.com Real-Time Correspondent Katie Hanson, he was at the game with his daughter and grandson. Unsurprisingly, considering the shocking realization of a foul ball headed right toward you, he was surprised the ball ended up in his area -- and said he appreciated Freese's gesture, even if he considers the ex-Cardinals slugger a "Brewers killer."
And to make this night even better for the fan, his Brewers beat the Pirates, 4-3, in the game.
