From 2008-16, Clayton Kershaw and A.J. Ellis were batterymates on the Dodgers. They recorded many strikeouts, they won many games and, most importantly, they shared many hugs:
When Ellis was traded to the Phillies midway through 2016, the tearful catcher was "devastated" he wouldn't catch Kershaw again. Kershaw was "shocked" and cried.
But on Thursday, with the Marlins in L.A. to face the Dodgers, A.J., now on Miami, reunited with his friend Clayton:
