'Parks and Recreation' totally called that the Cubs would win the World Series

We know that "Parks and Recreation" co-creator Michael Schur is a huge baseball fan -- if the sabermetric law firm didn't give it away, the David Ortiz Twitter avatar probably did. What we did not know, however, is that Schur has the ability to see into the future.

During the show's final season back in 2015, the timeline jumped ahead to 2017, when some of the characters took a quick trip to Chicago. That's when Lucy lets us in on what happened at Wrigley in the two years since:

"And obviously everyone's in a really great mood now because of the Cubs winning the Series." As Schur -- who personally wrote the line into the script -- explained to the Washington Post last week, he didn't really mean it as a joke:

"It's one of those things where until it happens, it seems impossible. But that's what makes Theo Epstein amazing. He puts together these teams [the 2004 Red Sox and the 2016 Cubs] and after it happens, you're like, 'Oh, it was inevitable. They were just the best team.'"
