It's Carlton Fisk's birthday, so let's watch him wave that World Series home run fair

main image

Carlton Fisk turns 67 today.

The former catcher has enjoyed a pretty spectacular life. He played baseball for 24 years (in four different decades!), was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2000 and is routinely referred to as one of the top five to ever play his position. He fully embraced the heated Red Sox-Yankees rivalry. There are rappers named after him.

But let's be honest, you probably remember him best from the 1975 World Series and that walk-off home run in Game 6 at Fenway Park:

Boston would go on to lose to the Reds in Game 7, but would give Fisk an honorary World Series ring when it finally won it all in 2004. Happy b-day, Pudge!
