Chris was named the Cubs major league bullpen coach, December 9, 2019...last season he served as the Phillies major league pitching coach and in 2018 was the Phillies assistant major league pitching coach...Prior to two seasons on the Phillies coaching staff, was a pro scout (2015-16) and MLB scouting supervisor (2017) with the Houston Astros...Worked as a pro scout with San Diego, 2010-14...Selected by Colorado in the 18th round of the 2002 Draft, and played six minor league seasons in the Rockies (2002-05), Pirates (2005) and Marlins (2006-07) systems...posted a 3.54 career ERA in 266 games...Is a 2003 graduate of Mississippi State University...graduated from Stow High School in Ohio in 1999.
 

COACHING CAREER

Chris is in his third season on a major league coaching staff and his first with Chicago as the team's bullpen coach...Was the Phillies major league pitching coach in 2019 after serving as assistant pitching coach in 2018.

PLAYING CAREER

Chris was 24-23 with 27 saves and a 3.54 ERA (161 ER/409.1 IP) in 266 minor league games, all but six as a reliever, from 2002-07, in the Colorado (2002-05), Pittsburgh (2005) and Florida (2006-07) chains...Made a career-high 59 appearances with Single-A Asheville in 2003, going 3-4 with nine saves and a 2.73 ERA (21 ER/69.1 IP)...walked 21 and struck out 63...Reached Triple-A for the first time in 2006, making three appearances with Albuquerque in the Marlins system...Pitched independent ball in 2008, going 5-5 with a 4.23 ERA (36 ER/76.2 IP) in 14 games, 13 starts, for Camden in the Atlantic League.
